Still posting on ARTFIRE

Good morning,

Well I am off to get busy listing more clearance beads on ARTFIRE. While it's so boring and time consuming, for a flat fee of $12.00 a month and no commissions, how can I resist? I strongly encourage all of my fellow artist friends to join!!! You can list 12 items for FREE with no commission taken. How can you beat that? No other site that I know of is doing this. Most charge you listing fees and commissions, and or flat monthly fees. For me the same thing on Ebay would be 75 to 100 times more per month! Yes, Ebay auctions generate tons of exposure, but customers expect your creations to be dirt cheap and you are expected to ship in a 7 day window. And, we all know this isn't easy for the artist making their own product. If you don't do things just perfectly on Ebay some consumers will feel entitled to leave less than flattering feedback. And, usually it's a customer who has experience buying, but little or no experience selling online.

In addition, Artfire is much easier to use than Ebay and even ETSY and they are offering many more features. Again, I have used all three now and I can't say enough about ARTFIRE.
I welcome your questions and I am happy to share my experiences with anyone wanting to know the pros and cons of Ebay versus ETSY, versus ARTFIRE.

Lastly, Artfire and ETSY are much more personal than Ebay. Ebay is so large that it runs like a machine, offering little personal service to good vendors should a problem arise.

Off to list...

What Is Precious Metal Clay?

In 1991 scientists in Japan, from the Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, developed a wonderful new product called, Precious Metal Clay, or PMC. These scientists used a combination of binders and metal particles to create a material with the working properties of modeling clay. The end product is water-soluble and comes in the form of lump, sheets, slip, and ready-to-use syringes and is available in fine silver or 22kt gold.
